Focus on Health and Nutrition
Whether you use olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, or any kind of oil for cooking, they are all produced in one of two ways. You might not be able to tell the difference while cooking or while tasting food, but the two distinct methods of production - cold pressed and hot pressed end up becoming completely different finished products. Here is the difference between cold pressed and hot pressed oils.
The first difference between the two types of oil is the way they are made. In cold pressing, oil is extracted at room temperature, at around 27 degrees centigrade, and the acid value is relatively low, so oil products are obtained after precipitation and filtration. This means that there is no need for any refinement. Hot pressing involves extracting oil at high temperatures, and because the acid value rises significantly, it loses most of its natural quality. therefore hot pressed oils are refined to make them fit for consumption.
Sustainability Commitments
Promotes Biodiversity
Emerald Oils have committed to planting 50m of hedgerow and 10 additional trees every year until 2022 to improve the biodiversity at their site.
Focus on Health and Nutrition
Emerald Oils are committed to educating the consumer of the health benefits of their product, how to use Rapeseed oil in cooking instead of butter, coconut oil and olive oil, the high burn point, less saturated fat and the many uses of cold pressed rapeseed oil: baking, frying, roasting, marinating, salad dressings, dips and stir fries. This will be done through Social media videos/recipes, In-store supermarket tastings, food fairs & charity cooking demonstrations.
